Key Features
Square, repeatable end cuts Holds your stock tight to the fence and flat to the base so cope and stick door frames, tenons, and half-laps come out straight instead of “close enough.” Iron-Grip clamping The Iron-Grip stainless spring steel clamp gives two points of contact with one knob, so you lock parts down fast without fighting toggle clamps. Stiff, stable base Precision-machined anodized aluminum base with UHMW glide strips moves smoothly along the fence and stays flat when it matters most.
Overview
The Woodpeckers IGCS Iron Grip Coping Sled is a router table accessory designed for controlled end-of-board routing like cope and stick joints, bridle joints, tenons, and half-laps. Model IGCS is built to keep narrow stock square to the router bit when your hands alone do not have enough surface area to stay safely registered to the infeed and outfeed fence.
The big win is guidance off the fence instead of a miter slot. You align your router table fence to the bit bearing, set the sled’s fence guide to match the fence, and get to work. That means less time fussing with “perfectly parallel to the miter track” setups and more time cutting parts that actually fit.
The foundation is an 11-1/2 in square precision-machined anodized aluminum base milled from cast and ground tool plate. Four UHMW glide strips on the underside reduce friction so the sled feeds smoothly without the grabby feel that can telegraph into the cut.
Workholding is a belt-and-suspenders setup. An adjustable top plate captures the work against the rigid back fence to stop rotation, then the Iron-Grip stainless spring steel clamp holds down from above. The clamp slides left and right to put pressure where you need it, and once it is set for stock thickness it takes less than one full turn to release and load the next piece.
The fence guide is 3/8 in thick and 15-1/2 in long, with 3 in of depth adjustment, so it can work with a wide range of router table fences and handle deeper end cuts. Capacity-wise, the adjustable plate accommodates stock up to 5-3/4 in wide and the clamp holds stock up to 1-3/4 in thick.
A T-slot in the back fence lets you mount a sacrificial backer to reduce blow-out as the bit exits. This is the kind of detail that matters when you are making door parts or cabinet joinery and cannot afford tearout on the show face.

End-grain routing is where tearout likes to ruin your day. This sled’s back fence is designed to take a replaceable backer so the bit exits into support instead of blowing out your profile.
